LNER Class J83, 0-6-0 Tank Loco | ||||||||||||||
PROTOTYPE. This class of 40 locomotives were designed by Holmes and built for the North British Railway in 1900. The locomotives had a number of minor alterations over the years and parts are included in the kit to cover these. The last member of the class was withdrawn in 1962 |

These locomotives were employed on a wide variety of duties ranging from shunting and short distance goods trips to branchline passenger and station pilot work. A number of the class worked Edinburgh Waverley station as pilot engines and were turned out in smart lined green livery. KIT. The body is mainly brass with a nickel silver chassis. A nice level of detail including cab interior is provided. The instructions are very comprehensive and consist of the original Majestic exploded drawings complemented by a written text describing step by step how I built a sample of the kit. |
